Producer Price Index

  July  2019

 
      Producer Price Index: Classification of Products by Activity (CPA) consisted of 3 product categories including agricultural, mining, and manufacturing products. The index in July 2019 equaled 102.0 (Base Year 2010 = 100).

       Year on Year (YoY)
       A total index decreased by 1.2 percent comparing to July 2018. The details were mentioned as follows.
       1. The agricultural products substantially increased 7.6 percent as a result of a higher demand in glutinous rice, a subsidized program for Rubber, and a lower supply in Fresh Vegetables (due to a weather condition) and Livestock (such as live swine, chicken and eggs).
       2. The mining products dropped 1.7 percent resulting from Crude Petroleum and metal ores.
       3. The manufacturing products dropped 2.3 percent. The main products which affected the index were Petroleum, Chemical products, Computer parts (Hard-Disk Drive), Basic Metals and Fabricated Metal products, Pulp and Paper products, and Textiles and Textiles products.
      
       Month on Month (MoM)
       To compare with June 2019, PPI dropped about 0.1 percent. The industrial products did not change. The mining products increased 1.8 percent while the agricultural products declined 1.4 percent.

       Producer Price Index: Stage of Processing (SOP) divided the products by production to 3 stages namely Finished goods, Intermediated and Raw materials. The indexes were 103.5, 99.2 and 99.7 respectively.
      
       Year on Year (YoY)
       The Finished goods and Intermediated declined 0.1 and 4.2 respectively (Base Year 2010 = 100) while Raw materials increased 1.0 percent comparing to July 2018.
      
       Month on Month (MoM)
       However, when we compared with June 2019, Both Finished and Intermediated goods decreased 0.2 but Raw materials increased 0.3.
