      Producer Price Index : Classification of Products by Activity (CPA)
December 2017
      
       Ministry of Commerce reported the movement of producer price index of Thailand in December 2017.
       The producer price index is compiled from the survey and evaluation on prices of 596 items collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and nationwide producers. The index covers 3 product categories - agricultural, mining, and manufacturing products. Figures are summarized as follows.
      
       1. The producer price index in December 2017 was 101.5 (PPI in November 2017 was 101.7 and year 2010 = 100).
      
       2. The producer price index in December 2017 compared to those in
       2.1) November 2017: The index decreased 0.2 percent.
       2.2) December 2016: The index moved down 0.6 percent.
       2.3) the average of year 2017 (January - December 2017) compared to one in the same period in 2016: The average index increased 0.7 percent.
      
       3. The producer price index in December 2017 compared to one in the previous month (November 2017) declined 0.2 percent mainly due to the price indexes of the mining products and the manufacturing products decreased 0.9 percent and 0.3 percent respectively, while the agricultural products moved up 0.6 percent,
       3.1) Agricultural products prices index went up 0.6 percent from one in the previous month (November 2017, its index decreased 2.3 percent) mainly due to Crop products, Fish and aquatics animals products.
       3.2) Mining products prices index moved down 0.9 percent (November 2017, the index increased 1.3 percent), mainly due to Lignite, petroleum & natural gas fell by 1.0 percent, Metal ores and other mining declined 0.1 percent.
       3.3) Manufacturing products prices index decreased 0.3 percent (November 2017, moved up 0.2 percent), mainly as a result of Food products, beverages & tobacco, Wood and wood products, Petroleum products, Electrical equipment, Other manufactured goods.
      
       4. The producer price index in December 2017 compared to one in December 2016 decreased 0.6 percent, principally due to the Agricultural products index fell 4.9 percent as a result of Crop products (-6.2 percent) and Live animals and animal products (-7.8 percent), and the manufacturing products index went down 0.2 percent mainly due to Food products, beverages & tobacco (-2.8 percent), Wood and wood products (-1.2 percent), Rubber and plastic products (-6.9 percent), Non-metallic mineral products (-0.1 percent) and Electrical equipment (-1.7 percent).
      
       5. Average 12 months of Producer Price Index (January - December 2017) compared to the same period of 2016 increased 0.7 percent, principally due to the mining products moved up 3.8 percent due to lignite, petroleum & natural gas (3.9 percent) and Metal ores and other mining (3.0 percent) ; the manufacturing products went up 1.0 percent due to the increase of Textiles and textiles products (0.2 percent), Wood and wood products (0.2 percent), Pulp, paper, paper products (1.1 percent), Petroleum products (16.9 percent), Chemicals and chemical products (1.5 percent), Rubber and plastic products (3.7 percent), Basic metals and fabricated metal products (1.5 percent), Machinery and equipment (0.3 percent) and Transport equipment (0.2 percent).

       Producer Price Index: Stage of Processing (SOP): December 2017
       Ministry of Commerce reported the movement of producer price index of Thailand for December 2017.
       The producer price index is compiled from surveys and evaluation on prices of 596 items collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and nationwide producers. The index covers 3 product categories - finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods. Figures are summarized as follows.
      
       1. The producer price index in December 2017 (PPI in 2010 = 100): For finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods were 103.2, 100.7 and 93.0 respectively.
      
       2. The producer price index in December 2017 compared to those in
       2.1) November 2017: The index of finished goods decreased 0.4 percent, intermediate goods index was unchanged, while crude goods index edged up 0.9 percent.
       2.2) December 2016: The index of finished goods declined 0.9 percent and crude goods index moved down 2.7 percent, while intermediate goods index went up 0.9 percent.
       2.3) Average 12 months of 2017 (January - December 2017) compared to the same period (January - December 2016) : The index of finished goods decreased 0.5 percent, while intermediate goods and crude goods increased by 3.3 and 1.4 percent respectively.
      
       3. The producer price index in December 2017 compared to one in the previous month (November 2017) :
       3.1) Finished goods decreased 0.4 percent, mainly due to the index of finished consumer goods moved down 0.4 percent and capital equipment declined 0.2 percent.
       3.2) Intermediate materials goods unchanged. However there were changed in some subgroups, namely the price index of intermediate materials for industry moved up 0.1 percent, while intermediate construction goods remained stable.
       3.3) Crude goods moved up 0.9 percent due to the crude materials for food increased 2.2 percent, while the crude nonfood materials moved down 0.9 percent.
      
       4. Producer Price Index in December 2017 compared to one in December 2016 :
       4.1) Finished goods price index moved down 0.9 percent, mainly due to the finished consumer goods index dropped 0.5 percent and the capital equipment index declined 1.7 percent.
       4.2) Intermediate goods prices index rose 0.9 percent as the prices of Intermediate materials for industry went up 1.0 percent and Intermediate construction goods increased 0.8 percent.
       4.3) Crude materials decreased 2.7 percent as the prices of crude nonfood materials moved down 6.2 percent, while crude materials for food edged up 0.1 percent.
      
       5. Average 12 months of producer price index (January - December 2017) compared to the same period of 2016:
       5.1) Finished goods price index decreased 0.5 percent due to the prices of finished consumer goods and capital equipment fell by 0.3 percent and 0.9 percent respectively.
       5.2) Intermediate goods price index moved up 3.3 percent due to the price index of intermediate materials for industry and Intermediate construction goods moved up 4.2 percent and 0.5 percent respectively.
       5.3) Crude materials price index increased 1.4 percent as a result of crude nonfood materials moved up 8.1 percent while crude materials for food fell by 3.6 percent.
