      Producer Price Index : Classification of Products by Activity (CPA)
October 2017
      
       Ministry of Commerce reported the movement of producer price index of Thailand in October 2017.
       The producer price index is compiled from the survey and evaluation on prices of 596 items collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and nationwide producers. The index covers 3 product categories - agricultural, mining, and manufacturing products. Figures are summarized as follows.
      
       1. The producer price index in October 2017 was 101.8 (PPI in September 2017 was 102.0 and year 2010 = 100).
      
       2. The producer price index in October 2017 compared to those in
       2.1) September 2017: The index decreased 0.2 percent.
       2.2) October 2016: The index moved up 0.1 percent.
       2.3) the average of year 2017 (January - October 2017) compared to one in the same period in 2016: The average index increased 0.8 percent.
      
       3. The producer price index in October 2017 compared to one in the previous month (September 2017) declined 0.2 percent mainly due to the price indexes of the agricultural products, the mining products and the manufacturing products moved down 1.1 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent respectively.
       3.1) Agricultural products prices index went down 1.1 percent from one in the previous month (September 2017, its index increased 1.9 percent) mainly due to Crop products, Live animals and animal products, Fish and aquatics animal products.
       3.2) Mining products prices index dropped 0.2 percent (September 2017, the index peaked 1.5 percent), mainly due to Lignite, petroleum & natural gas went down 0.2 percent.
       3.3) Manufacturing products prices index declined 0.1 percent (September 2017, moved up 0.5 percent), mainly as a result of Food products, beverages & tobacco (-0.7 percent), Wood and wood products (-0.2 percent), Rubber and plastic products (-1.6 percent), Electrical equipment (-0.1 percent), and Other manufactured goods (-1.0 percent).
      
       4. The producer price index in October 2017 compared to one in October 2016 increased 0.1 percent, principally due to the mining products index peaked 3.1 percent mainly due to Lignite, petroleum & natural gas (3.3 percent), Metal ores and other mining (2.4 percent) and the manufacturing products index rose 0.3 percent mainly due to Textiles and textiles products (0.2 percent), Pulp, paper and paper products (2.0 percent), Petroleum products (12.3 percent), Chemicals and chemical products (0.7 percent), Basic metals and fabricated metal products (2.8 percent), Machinery and equipment (0.7 percent), and transport equipment (0.1 percent).
       5. Average 10 months of Producer Price Index (January - October 2017) compared to the same period of 2016 increased 0.8 percent, principally due to the mining products moved up 3.4 percent due to lignite, petroleum & natural gas (3.2 percent) and Metal ores and other mining (3.1 percent) ; the manufacturing products went up 1.1 percent due to the increase of Textiles and textiles products (0.2 percent), Wood and wood products (0.4 percent), Pulp, paper, paper products (0.9 percent), Petroleum products (17.4 percent), Chemicals and chemical products (1.5 percent), Rubber and plastic products (5.6 percent), Basic metals and fabricated metal products (1.6 percent), Machinery and equipment (0.3 percent) and Transport equipment (0.2 percent).

       Producer Price Index: Stage of Processing (SOP): October 2017
       Ministry of Commerce reported the movement of producer price index of Thailand for October 2017.
       The producer price index is compiled from surveys and evaluation on prices of 596 items collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and nationwide producers. The index covers 3 product categories - finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods. Figures are summarized as follows.
      
       1. The producer price index in October 2017 (PPI in 2010 = 100): For finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods were 103.7, 100.2 and 93.6 respectively.
      
       2. The producer price index in October 2017 compared to those in
       2.1) September 2017: The index of finished goods decreased 0.2 percent, intermediate goods index edged up 0.4 percent, and crude goods index declined 1.5 percent.
       2.2) October 2016: The index of finished goods declined 0.5 percent, while intermediate goods index moved up 1.8 percent and crude goods index dropped 0.5 percent.
       2.3) Average 10 months of 2017 (January - October 2017) compared to the same period (January - October 2016) : The index of finished goods decreased 0.4 percent, while intermediate goods and crude goods increased by 3.7 and 1.8 percent respectively.
      
       3. The producer price index in October 2017 compared to one in the previous month (September 2017) :
       3.1) Finished goods decreased 0.2 percent, mainly due to the index of finished consumer goods moved down 0.4 percent and capital equipment declined 0.2 percent.
       3.2) Intermediate materials goods advanced 0.4 percent as a result of the price index of intermediate materials for industry moved up 0.5 percent and intermediate construction goods was unchanged.
       3.3) Crude goods moved down 1.5 percent due to the crude materials for food decreased 0.8 percent and the crude nonfood materials moved down 2.3 percent.
      
       4. Producer Price Index in October 2017 compared to one in October 2016 :
       4.1) Finished goods price index moved down 0.5 percent, mainly due to the finished consumer goods index decreased 0.4 percent and capital equipment went down 0.9 percent.
       4.2) Intermediate goods prices index rose 1.8 percent as the prices of intermediate materials for industry went up 2.0 percent, while Intermediate construction goods increased 1.2 percent.
       4.3) Crude materials declined 0.5 percent as the prices of crude materials for food fell by 2.2 percent, while crude nonfood materials moved up 1.7 percent.
      
       5. Average 10 months of producer price index (January - October 2017) compared to the same period of 2016:
       5.1) Finished goods price index decreased 0.4 percent due to the prices of finished consumer and capital equipment fell by 0.3 percent and 0.7 percent respectively.
       5.2) Intermediate goods price index moved up 3.7 percent due to the price index of intermediate materials for industry and Intermediate construction goods moved up 4.6 percent and 0.4 percent respectively.
       5.3) Crude materials price index increased 1.8 percent as a result of crude nonfood materials moved up 10.3 percent while crude materials for food fell by 4.4 percent.
