      Producer Price Index : Classification of Products by Activity (CPA)
February 2017
      
       Ministry of Commerce reported the movement of producer price index of Thailand in February 2017.
       The producer price index is compiled from the survey and evaluation on prices of 596 items collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and nationwide producers. The index covers 3 product categories - agricultural, mining, and manufacturing products. Figures are summarized as follows.
      
       1. The producer price index in February 2017 was 103.7 (PPI in January 2017 was 103.0 and year 2010 = 100).
      
       2. The producer price index in February 2017 compared to those in
       2.1) January 2017: The index increased 0.7 percent.
       2.2) February 2016: The index moved up 3.9 percent.
       2.3) the average of year 2017 (January - February 2017) compared to one in the same period in 2016: The average index went up 3.5 percent.
      
       3. The producer price index in February 2017 compared to one in the previous month (January 2017) increased 0.7 percent mainly due to the price indexes of the agricultural products moved up 1.8 percent, the mining products increased 0.7 percent and the manufacturing products edged up 0.6 percent.
       3.1) Agricultural products prices index rose by 1.8 percent from one in the previous month (January 2017, its index moved up 2.9 percent) mainly due to crop product, fish and aquatics animals products.
       3.2) Mining products prices index moved up 0.7 percent (January 2017, increased 1.5 percent), mainly due to the global price of crude oil, natural gas and metal ores.
       3.3) Manufacturing products prices index went up 0.6 percent (January 2017, increased 0.5 percent), mainly as a result of Petroleum products, Chemicals and chemical products, Rubber and plastic products, Basic metals and fabricated metal products, Other manufactured goods (gold).
      
       4. The producer price index in February 2017 compared to one in February 2016 increased 3.9 percent, principally due to agricultural products increased 7.5 percent as a result of crop product (9.4 percent), fish and aquatics animals products (8.1 percent); the mining products, its indexes increased 5.0 percent mainly due to lignite, petroleum and natural gas (5.1 percent), metal ores and other mining (4.1 percent) ; the manufacturing products went up 3.5 percent mainly due to textiles and textiles products (0.3 percent), wood and wood Products (0.6 percent), petroleum products (39.9 percent), chemicals and chemical products (3.2 percent), rubber and plastic products (17.0 percent), basic metals and fabricated metal products (1.8 percent), transport equipment (0.2 percent) and other manufactured goods (0.5 percent).
       5. Average 2 months of Producer Price Index (January - February 2017) compared to the same period of 2016 increased 3.5 percent, principally due to agricultural products increased 7.7 percent as a result of crop product (9.6 percent), fish and aquatics animals products (8.6 percent) ; the mining products moved up 3.0 percent due to lignite , petroleum & natural gas (2.8 percent) and Metal ores and other mining (4.1 percent) ; the manufacturing products went up 3.0 percent due to the increase of textiles and textiles products (0.2 percent), wood and wood products (0.8 percent), petroleum products (33.8 percent), chemicals and chemical products (2.7 percent), rubber and plastic products (15.5 percent), basic metals and fabricated metal products (1.1 percent), transport equipment (0.2 percent) and other manufactured goods (1.7 percent).

       Producer Price Index: Stage of Processing (SOP): February 2017
       Ministry of Commerce reported the movement of producer price index of Thailand for February 2017.
       The producer price index is compiled from surveys and evaluation on prices of 596 items collected from farmers, entrepreneurs, and nationwide producers. The index covers 3 product categories - finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods. Figures are summarized as follows.
      
       1. The producer price index in February 2017 (PPI in 2010 = 100): For finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods were 104.2, 103.1 and 101.7 respectively.
      
       2. The producer price index in February 2017 compared to those in
       2.1) January 2017: The index of finished goods unchanged, intermediate goods index moved up 1.7 percent and crude goods index edged up 2.4 percent.
       2.2) February 2016: The index of finished goods increased 0.7 percent, intermediate goods index moved up 9.6 percent and crude goods index rose 11.1 percent.
       2.3) Average 2 months of 2017 (January - February 2017) compared to the same period (January - February 2016): The index of finished goods, intermediate goods and crude goods rose by 0.7, 8.4 and 9.6 percent respectively.
      
       3. The producer price index in February 2017 compared to one in the previous month (January 2017) :
       3.1) Finished goods was unchanged, however there were the movements in subgroups ; the finished consumer goods increased 0.1 percent while capital equipment went down 0.2 percent.
       3.2) Intermediate materials goods increased 1.7 percent as a result of the price index of Intermediate materials for industry and Intermediate construction goods moved up 2.3 percent and 0.1 percent respectively.
       3.3) Crude goods increased 2.4 percent due to the crude materials for food went up 1.2 percent and crude nonfood materials rose by 3.8 percent.
      
       4. Producer Price Index in February 2017 compared to one in February 2016 :
       4.1) Finished goods price index edged up 0.7 percent, mainly due to finished consumer goods moved up 1.3 percent while capital equipment went down 0.7 percent.
       4.2) Intermediate goods prices index increased 9.6 percent as the prices of intermediate materials for industry and Intermediate construction goods moved up 12.4 percent and 0.7 percent respectively.
       4.3) Crude materials increased 11.1 percent because of crude nonfood materials moved up 28.6 percent while crude materials for food fell 0.9 percent.
      
       5. Average 2 months of producer price index (January - February 2017) compared to the same period of 2016:
       5.1) Finished goods price index increased 0.7 percent due to the prices of finished consumer goods 1.5 percent while capital equipment fell 0.8 percent.
       5.2) Intermediate goods price index moved up 8.4 percent due to the price index of intermediate materials for industry and Intermediate construction goods moved up 10.8 percent and 0.4 percent respectively.
       5.3) Crude materials price index increased 9.6 percent as a result of crude nonfood materials moved up 25.4 percent while crude materials for food fell 1.4 percent.
